Arab League welcomes Egypt efforts in Shalit swap

CAIRO: The Arab League General Secretariat welcomed the prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israeli authorities that was done under Egypt auspices.
The Arab League congratulated the Palestinian prisoners and each one who contributed in this deal, especially Egypt's role in the success of the deal.
The league emphasized that it will always demand the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons and will take this cause to all international and regional events.
The league secretariat said the prisoner swap is important because it included the release of 1,027 Palestinian prisoners and it came after a tough battle with Israeli authorities after Palestinian prisoners went on many hunger strikes to gain their rights, especially as they are living in non-humanitarian conditions.
The Arab League said it is certain that Israeli policy will fail to break the Palestinian people's will, and that Palestine will eventually gain independence.
