CAIRO: The "the Islamic Parliament" movement launched its first campaign to unify Islamic movements to bring together all kinds of Islamic parties and trends. The campaign held discussions with two Salafi party representatives, meeting with Mamdouh Ismail, chairman deputy of al-Assalah Party and Hashim Abu el-Nassr, Secretary General of the al-Nour party in Giza. The meetings tackled all situations and decisions concerning the parliamentary elections, said Abu Muslim el Abd, member of the movement Abd added that Abu Nassr told Ismail that his party would not nominate any proportional representation list candidates in the constituencies were al-Assalah is running candidates. Ismail highlighted the importance of dealing with political matters to coordinate among the Islamic parties especially in making decisions, and treating crises facing Egypt. All officials of the movement will meet all political parties to determine the parties' stance towards this initiative, and the Islamic Parliament will announce each party's stance, Abd noted. He said the movement would visit Salafi scholars in Alexandria to discuss their stance towards this Islamic alliance. The movement aims to make the youth from all Islamic trends over Egyptian governorates to unify Muslims' movements. The Islamic Parliament is a cultural, social, and political movement aiming to unite all Islamic coalitions. So far the movement has garnered support from the Coalition of Supporting New Muslims, the Coalition of 77, the Free Islamic Coalition, the Association of Work and Science, the Omar Abdel Rahman Family, the Islamic Salafi Youth Coalition, Egypt's Building Party, Salafis' Call for Crossing, and the campaign of Hazem Salah Abu Ismail.
