Tantawi's speech in occasion of October War

CAIRO: The chairman of Egypt's ruling military council, Hussein Tantawi, gave a speech in occasion of the 38th anniversary of the October War against Israel.
"Egypt is going through a very delicate period in history and is witnesses to a comprehensive change in the national course, which cannot be neglected amid the crises looming on the horizon. This transitional phase demands all Egyptians with their different political and apolitical points of view to be aware of the repercussions and requirements to pass and smoothly get through this period," Tantawi said.
“After the Egyptian January 25 Revolution, triggered by Egypt's youth, the freedom to voice out different opinions varied and dispersed. The voices of doubt appeared and were accompanied with crises and threats in all fields, especially in security and economy.”
"Egyptians should confront the crises and threats to not hold back on our national objectives and not slide into unknown consequences that could form a barrier against the future aiming toward Egypt's safety. Egyptians must be strong with a unified people gathering together,” he continued.
“There should be awareness campaigns against challenges targeting Egypt through dispersal and violation of its internal front. Anyone trying to cause instability and security in Egypt should avoid the anger of those who proved their ability to surpass ordeals and problems. Egyptians are now stronger than ever before,” Tantawi said.
Egyptians rejected defeat and setbacks and they liberated every inch of their territory. They are able to pass this decisive and delicate phase in history by unifying with national objectives, preserving unity of patriotism and by establishing a modern civil state on the bases of democracy. These allow Egypt's younger generations to participate in taking decisions and evaluating social justice.
Tantawi recalled and honored the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat's role in October War since he was the one who declared the October War.
Tantawi said the Egyptian Youth are the pillars of Egypt and will build the present and the future with their technical capacities, full loyalty, and full preparation to exert effort for development and prosperity.
Egyptian youth are the extension of the October War generation and they bore full responsibility when they participated and achieved victory with sacrifices and salvation.
In related news, Tahrir Square witnessed a military parade on Thursday October 6. The parade was attended by a great number of military and security forces and certain military figures in occasion of the October War.
More 600 Egyptians people attended the military parade, raising Egyptian flags and banners, "January 25 Revolutionaries congratulate the Army about the October War." An Egyptian citizen had flowers and distributed them among the military officers. In addition, traffic movement in Tahrir was regular.
