CAIRO: Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf sent a congratulatory telegram to Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, head of Egypt's ruling military council, for the occasion of the 38th anniversary of Egypt's October 6 victory. The telegram read: “It is my pleasure to send you best wishes on this historical occasion. During the October victory Egyptian heroes scarified their lives for the sake of the nation and to preserve Egyptian dignity and freedom. They achieved a great victory which is taught in military institutes now. I took this glorious occasion to wish you to guide and help Egypt for more progress and developments in all fields. Happy anniversary.” Sharaf also sent a letter to Egyptian Army Chief of Staff Sami Anan, saying: “I send you and the armed forces officers, commanders and soldiers best wishes for the 38th anniversary of glorious October victory. We pray for God to bring this event with good health and happiness for you and with more progress for our dear Egypt and our loyal people."
