Egyptian Citizen Party founder's undersecretary Salah Hasballah said the party will run for the upcoming parliamentary elections with 300 candidates and he expects to win 100 chairs in the next parliament. He also said the party will run for Shura Council elections with 150 candidates. The rate of the party's candidates who are also former members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) won't exceed the rate of 30 percent. The rest of the 70 percent will be new faces. Hasballah added in the case his party makes it to parliament, it will make alliances with the certain parties in the parliament to create a majority. The party received applications from people who want to run for parliamentary elections, an estimated 650 applicants, and the party will chose 300 of them. Legal counselor of The Union Party Reda Sakr said the party will run for the upcoming parliamentary elections and will compete for 80 percent of electoral districts nationwide. Reda also said Egyptian businessman Saif Fahmy, who is also the temporary chairman of the party, and head of the party's supreme committee, Hossam Badrawy, will choose the candidates. Modern Egypt Party, headed by Nabil Daa'bis, decided to run for the parliamentary election with 40 candidates among the democratic coalition list.
