CAIRO: Two Egyptians died in Paris today when a fire broke out in an abandoned house, according to Amr Roushdi, the official spokesman of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Earlier reports had put the number at three. Roushdi said the Egyptian Embassy in Paris sent a team to follow the consequences of the fire and to find any information regarding the Egyptians who were claimed dead. French authorities reported that the two Egyptians, both illegal immigrants, died from suffocation, while another four Arabs were burnt alive, said Roushdi. He also said that the Egyptian Embassy in Paris is taking the needed procedures to finish the papers of the two dead bodies so they can be moved to Egypt. The fact that the two were illegal immigrants and did not have any registered papers in France complicates the issue.
