CAIRO – Members of the Syrian community in Cairo today organized a protest in front of the Syrian embassy in Cairo criticizing the heavy-handed and brutal crackdown by the Syrian regime against its people. The demonstrators demanded that Egypt's ruling military council and the Egyptian people support the Syrians against the inhumane measures inflicted upon the people of Syria by the regime led by Bashar al-Assad. One of the Syrian demonstrators claims to have submitted a complaint against the embassy in Cairo because officials in the embassy sent a number of thugs to tear down pictures of martyrs of the Syrian Revolution. The demonstrators repeated a number of national songs expressing their support for the Syrians struggling for freedom.
