Governor of Cairo Abdel Kawi Khalifa today instructed the Department of Tourism in Cairo to coordinate with the Chamber of Tourism and Cairo hotels to prepare for tourists during the celebration of World Tourism Day, the theme of which this year is “Tourism Connecting Cultures.” “The selection of the World Tourism Organization Egypt to celebrate World Tourism Day is in recognition of the role of Egypt and the January 25 Revolution,” said Khalifa. “Tourism Connecting Cultures' corresponds to the history of Egypt's civilization, which brought civilizations to life from the Pharonic era to the modern era.” Khalifa pointed out the need for all Egyptian citizens to preserve this cultural heritage through open dialogue and by emphasizing, promoting and strengthening mutual understanding and respect between communities and different cultures. “The January 25 Revolution had an important role in attracting the world's attention to Egypt,” he added.
