Yusri Fouda Arabic: يسري فودة Born: May 13, 1950 Yousri Fouda is a popular Egyptian television presenter. He currently hosts the show ‘Baladna bel Masry' (Egypt our country) on private satellite station ONTV. Fouda is an award-winning investigative journalist and a founding member of the Arab News Network. Fouda began his journalism career with the BBC's short-lived Arabic-subsidiary during the war in Bosnia with veteran reporter Martin Bell. In 1996 he joined Al-Jazeera and became the bureau chief for the media organization's Arabic division. Fouda gained fame for his program ‘Top Secret' on Al-Jazeera. He is the co-author of ‘Masterminds of Terror: The Truth behind The Most Devastating Attack the World Has Ever Seen,' published in 2003 by the Arcade Publishing Company. Fouda later took a teaching position at Cairo University. In 2006, Fouda broke a story on a ‘martyrdom video' by a group supposedly affiliated with the 9/11 hijackers. He interviewed al-Qaeda member Khalid Sheikh Mohamed, who confessed his involvement with Ramzi Bin Al-Shibh, considered a key facilitator of the September 11, 2001 attacks. As a result of this story, Fouda revealed the hideaway location of Bin Al-Shibh to Al-Jazeera chairman Hamad Bin Thamer Al Thani, a cousin of the prince of Qatar, and then CIA director George Tenet received the location tip-off from the Prince of Qatar, resulting in Bin Al-Shibh's capture.
