ALEXANDRIA, Egypt – The Alexandria Criminal Court headed by Judge Mousa al-Nahrawi today decided to delay the Khaled Said case to October 22. The Court decided to revise a forensic report with the medical committee. The Court also decided to continue to detain the accused and ban media publications in the next session. The Court today convened the medical committee while the defense team demanded the release of the defendants. Tens of Facebook and other activists arranged a protest in front of the Courthouse to support Khaled Said and his family. “The ban on media publications will not affect the trial,” said Ali Qasem, the uncle of Khaled Said. “We trust the Court's justice.” “After the expulsion of Coroner Mohamed Abdul Aziz and the former Head of Forensic Medicine at Alexandria University, we believe that justice will be applied,” Qasem said. The Court delayed the case so that the medical committee could review new evidence, Qasem added. The case may also involve new defendants.
