Security forces in Sohag today intensified search efforts in the massive manhunt employed to find a dismissed police officer who, with the help of people posing as police officers, stormed his ex-wife's house and kidnapped her. The dismissed officer was trying to convince her to drop the charges she leveled against him in court. Sohag Security Director Gen. Abdel Aziz al-Nahas reported that he received a complaint accusing the dismissed officer of colluding with two others to storm his house and kidnap his daughter. Security forces put together a task force to investigate the claim. A report concluded that three people posing as police officers stormed the farmer's house and kidnapped him and his daughter. The farmer and his daughter confirmed that the purpose was to persuade them to drop the charges filed against the dismissed officer. A number of operations launched to apprehend the suspects resulted in successfully capturing all involved except for the dismissed officer. The suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution to continue the investigation.
