CAIRO: The Israeli Army is preparing for all potential scenarios after the declaration of Palestinian statehood coinciding with the Palestinian Authority heading to UN General Assembly and UN Security Council on September 23 to achieve recognition of its state. They expected a Palestinian demonstration uprising will be triggered throughout the West Bank and a third uprising in Jerusalem starting at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Israeli army deployed military barriers around every settlement and military base to prepare for any potential Palestinian protest in the West Bank, according to the Israeli newspaper Maariv. The paper added Palestinian protests won't take place in the West Bank only, but there could also be thousands of marches from other Arab countries like Jordan and Syria heading to Israel. It would be a similar incident like the last anniversary of Nakba. As for Israeli borders with Lebanon, the situation will be the most dangerous because of the presence of Lebanese Hezbollah. If Israeli soldiers attacked the citizens there, it is expected Hezbollah will respond by launching rockets aiming for the inside of Israel. In anther scenario, the Palestinian resisters who infiltrate from inside Sinai Peninsula could make suicide attacks inside Israel, or in Israeli settlements, like what happened in Eilat. They are also afraid of rockets being launched into Israel from the Gaza strip.
