Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi will arrive in Cairo this Friday to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement with the Egyptian government and discuss the ongoing challenges facing the Nile Basin Initiative. Prime Minister Meles will meet with Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the chief of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), and Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, diplomatic sources told Youm7. Arrangements are also being made for the Ethiopian leader to meet with Coptic Pope Shenouda III. The meetings in Cairo will center on geo-political topics in Sudan and Somalia, sources said. An Ethiopian delegation, including representatives from the Ethiopian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Women and Children, arrived in Cairo yesterday and met with Egyptian officials.
