CAIRO: Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, in coordination with the Council of Ministries, today decided to refer a fact-finding report on the foreign funding of NGOs operating in Egypt to various investigatory bodies. There are 30 unregistered NGOs funded by foreign sources, according to the report. The Cabinet session also tackled a new report from the Egyptian Ministry of Education regarding the challenges facing Egyptian schools in the new school year, beginning September 17. Cabinet members agreed to expand the free zone working period in the Port Said governorate for another year. This agreement will end on January 22, 2013. The Cabinet also agreed to allocate the al-Raswa area in Port Said for industrial, not agricultural, endeavors. Airport Dahab will be established on privatized government land in the governorate, which will be reclaimed by the Egyptian government.
