CAIRO: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Israeli-Egyptian border Tuesday to inspect the construction of the Egypt-Israel barrier. The barrier will be completed three months ahead of schedule according to Netanyahu, who said construction would wrap up in September 2012. "The Egyptian border is peaceful area, and there is a need to establish the barrier with Egypt if we want peace to continue,” said Netanyahu according to Israeli TV's Channel Ten. Netanyahu added the barrier is being established to prevent infiltrations into Israel. Around 50 kilometers (31 miles) of the barrier are already completed, according to Israeli television. The planned length is 240 kilometers (150 miles).
