The Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, arrived into Cairo Airport Monday evening. He greeted all those assembled there in Arabic with the traditional Muslim greeting “Al-Salam Aleikum.” Erdogan and his wife were received at the Cairo Airport by Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and his wife. Members the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) stood along the road leading to the lounge at the airport, raising pictures of Erdogan on banners, welcoming him with stamped envelopes of the slogan of the MB. They chanted slogans, "Erdogan, oh Erdogan; a tribute from the Muslim Brotherhood," "Egypt and Turkey, an Islamic caliphate," and "Hello people of pride in the land of dignity." It was observed Turkish security accompanying Erdogan were extremely cautious in securing the airport as soon as the plane landed. Members of the Turkish Special Forces exited the plane with weapons and they checked the area security. After assurance of security, Erdogan, his wife Amina and his daughter came out, accompanied by Sharaf and his wife in her first official public appearance. The delegation was welcomed by the Minister of Communications, Mohammed Salim; the Egyptian Ambassador in Turkey, Abdel Rahman Salah El Din; Ambassador Ahmed Fathallah; and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
