The Egyptian government will stop issuing visas upon arrival, according to a statement released by the Egyptian cabinet Thursday. The Egyptian cabinet decided to issue tourist visas on arrival only to group tours in all airports. It also issued a ban on non-tourist visas for individuals and groups. Non-tourist individuals and groups must apply for visas through an embassy; otherwise, their stay in Egypt is illegal. The cabinet also decided that Egyptian tourist agencies organizing group tours are responsible for informing relevant authorities of violators of the new visa policy when tourist groups arrive or exit Egypt.
