Fifteen of al-Ahly Football Club's fans were imprisoned and one minor released by Nasr City's prosecutor after riots between the fans and police at Cairo Stadium Wednesday. Initial investigations said that ten police cars, three trucks belonging to traffic police and two motorcycles were burnt during the riots. Eighty-eight were wounded, including five police officers, and one policeman. Members of Central Security Forces made up the remainder of the wounded. The accused denied all charges of vandalism and assaulting police officers during a investigation session Thursday. The trophy match between the Ahly and Kima Aswan club teams resulted in violent clashes between the police and Ahly club fans, after Ahly fans chanted slogans slamming former President Mubarak and the Ministry of Interior.
