JAPAN: The recent Talas typhoon in Japan has left 36 dead and 59 missing and is considered one of the most destructive typhoon in Japanese history, reported the Japan Times. Police and civil defense forces resumed search operations for missing persons today, mainly in the Nara and Wakayama prefectures. “The tropical storm hit the region and caused rough flooding that destroyed roads and prevented rescue workers from performing duties,” sources reported. “We are doing our best to rescue people and look for missing persons,” said the Japanese Prime Minister. Meteorology experts warned that certain areas are still vulnerable.
