New Cairo's prosecution decided to release the 22 defendants who were arrested during clashes outside the police academy during the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's trial yesterday. The accused were released on bail of 200 EGP (U.S. $33.6) each until they are tried next Thursday. They will be tried on charges of assaulting police officers and vandalized public facilities. The prosecution called the 15 wounded witnesses earlier to identify the defendants and hear their testimonies about the incidents.
