The Judicial Authority Law committee will hold a series of meetings next week in order to discuss new suggestions and prepare for an initial plan for reform, according to the head of committee, Ahmed Mekki. “The committee will present the plan for discussion and social dialogue with judges and citizens during sessions in the house of Supreme Court,” he said. According to the results of these discussions, the committee will decide upon the final reform for the Judicial Authority Law. The reforms will then be presented to the Supreme Judicial Council. He said the committee is still receiving suggestions of all judiciary bodies, courts, clubs, general attorney members, organizations of civil society and human rights about the demanded reforms for Judicial Authority Law. Mekki also said the committee is communicating with judges, clubs and all who are interested in reforming the Judicial Authority Law. “The committee will not exclude any suggestions to gain personal benefits,” he added.
