The General Administration of Cairo Investigations launched a security campaign for all sectors to arrest thugs and outlaws who damage the celebration of Eid el-Fitr. Many teenagers were arrested for trying to harass girls. The campaign, led by the assistant of the Egyptian Minister of Interior and security chief of Cairo, Mohsen Morad, arrested 24 youth in their twenties for annoying girls in streets. One had a knife and tried to threaten girls with it. The campaign also succeeded in arresting two other youth who were trying to rape a 29-year-old woman. Two other young men were caught with electric shock tazers. The plan aimed to arrest harassment attempts in Cairo and succeeded. All the accused were arrested and transferred to general attorney.
