ALEXANDRIA, Egypt: Egyptian presidential candidate, Ayman Nour, said Egypt is on the right way to achieving democratic change. He hopes the next parliament will form an institutional committee representing all Egyptian factions to draft the new constitution. Nour said he wouldn't live in the presidential palaces if he took the presidency. He blames such palaces and luxury for separating the former President Hosni Mubarak from the people and society. He will open the presidential palaces for the public to visit. He expressed confidence of Alexandrians who will not elect the remnants of the former regime in the next presidential elections. "It was my destiny to compete with Mubarak in 2005 and now to compete with the remnants of his regime in 2011," Nour said. He said the incidents in Sinai was a test for Egyptians, especially in the current condition Egypt is in. Nour said the situation as an important opportunity to be seized by Egyptian authorities to amend the Camp David peace treaty and allow Egyptian troops to enter Sinai. He tells those who sympathized with Mubarak to remember the 600 martyrs who lost their lives overthrowing the former regime. He said the blood of Egyptian martyrs is valued and precious.
