Egypt participated in a competition to memorize the Quran in Africa, a competition organized by Tanzania Association and Pilgrimage Tanzania, both charities. Competitors from Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, Nigeria, Burundi, South Africa and Somalia participated in the contest. Tanzanian Vice President Mohammed Belal Ghareed urged Muslim students to explain and spread the teachings of the Quran to the world. “The messages in this book make a big difference in society if it is understood well and we obligate it; these messages warn Muslims against the habit of not reading Quran” said Ghareeb to Citizen, a Tanzanian newspaper, during the finals of the competition. “We should learn to adjust time when we read the Quran, we waste time because of not doing that, and the book's orders us to do justice for all” he added.
