ARISH, Egypt: The North Sinai chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party issued a statement condemning the killings of Egyptian soldiers on the border with Israel. Last Thursday Egyptian soldiers were killed by the Israeli military as they pursued militants across the border near the Red Sea resort towns of Eilat and Taba, on either side of the Israel-Egypt border. The Freedom and Justice Party of North Sinai, headed by Salah al-Tabarani, issued a statement calling the incident a “cowardly” act. They demanded an apology and fair compensation for the families of the deceased and a pledge from Israel not to repeat the incident.
