adventurer Dominic Gill has reached the end of an extraordinary 4,000-kilometer (2,485 miles) bicycling trip across Egypt after 60 days. Gill cycled through the most important tourist attractions in Egypt, from Tahrir Square in the capital city of Cairo to the Sinai Peninsula, the Western Desert to Upper Egypt to the Red Sea. British Ambassador to Egypt James Watt praised Gill for his extraordinary accomplishment. The British Embassy will hold a press conference for Gill during which the cyclist will describe his experiences. Gill used a bicycle equipped with two seats and all facilities and equipment he may need along the route. Gill said the aim of the trip was to convey a realistic picture of Egypt during this transformational period in its history as well as to interact with the Egyptian people and discover what their lives are really like. Gill visited both famous sites and lesser-known areas. He said he would not forget the tops of the mountains of Sinai, the grandeur of the columns of the Temple of Karnak or the hospitality of the Egyptian people. Egypt's Tourism Board provided much in the way of assistance and support to Gill in order to show the reality of the situation and to promote adventure tourism in Egypt.
