SINAI, Egypt: Egyptian army forces are gathering in various locations in Arish, in North Sinai. Residents of Sheikh Zueaid City in Arish expressed their happiness at the army's arrival. "The army's mission is to secure the governorate and face any attack," said North Sinai Governor Abdel Wahab Mabrouk. Army forces arrived North Sinai after armed attacks on police stations in the area. Eyewitnesses said the persons who attacked the Arish police station in Sadat Square, leaving three dead and 12 wounded, used RPGs (rocket propelled grenades), spoke with a Syrian accent and held Islamic slogans. The gas line that exports Egyptian natural gas to Israel in Arish was also attacked last month. On Friday, Youm7 published the details of the Egyptian army's plan to catch radical elements involved in the Arish attacks. It is believed that these elements belong to an al-Qaeda affiliated organization. CNN also reported that an Egyptian security source said the army is organizing a plan against al-Qaeda elements in Sinai. CNN added that al-Qaeda members are in Sinai's Alskaskh region, which lies between Arish and Rafah, on the border with the Gaza Strip. The groups have been practicing for a month, and their nationalities have not been discovered yet, according to CNN. The security plan, therefore, has become an urgent necessity, CNN quoted the security source as saying. Gaber al-Arabi, secretary general of North Sinai governorate, said, "Egyptian army infantry troops will participate in the plan in cooperation with border guards.” Egyptian media published the statements of the new group "al-Qaeda Organization in Sinai." The new organization calls on the Egyptian government to announce Sinai as an Islamic governorate and to renounce the Peace Agreement with Israel. They said any agreements with Zionist are forbidden in Islam. Arabic here,
