An administrative court, led by Counsel Hamdy Yassen Okasha, stayed an earlier court ruling merging national news organizations. The Supreme Administrative Court will be tasked with the decision to uphold or overturn today's ruling. Workers in news organizations are now an integral part of the fabric of the companies, argued the court. It is difficult to separate them from such organizations, particularly in the absence of a People's Assembly and the Shura Council. The administrative court decided to overturn three Shura Council decisions – the merging of Shaab and Dar Taawn organizations in the National Foundation for Publishing, the transfer of journalists from weekly Taawn Magazine and Agricultural Magazine to Ahram Organization and the transfer of Masaayia Organization to Akhbar el-Youm. The Shura Council filed an appeal on the administrative court ruling.
