ARISH, Egypt: A mortar attack was launched by three unidentified masked individuals at the tomb of Sheikh Zuwaid governorate of North Sinai for the second time. The tomb is located 30 kilometers east of the capital city of Arish, about 15 kilometers from the Egyptian border with the Gaza Strip. Witnesses said three unidentified masked men targeted the tomb with rocket propelled grenades shells. They did not manage to damage the tomb due to residents attacking them. This is the second attack of this kind; the tomb faced a similar attack back in May, which led to the cracking and collapse of the outer walls of the tomb. Sheikh Zuwaid was one of the early Muslims who arrived to Egypt with Amr Ibn al-Aas to the conquer Egypt. Sheikh Zuawid died and was buried in the area, which now in a city named after Sheikh Zuwaid in his honor.
