SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: Deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will be transferred to Cairo to face trial. Mubarak's trial begins Wednesday, and there has been uncertainty over whether Mubarak would be transferred or not due to health reasons. The former president faces charges of corruption and murdering demonstrators during Egypt's January 25 Revolution. An official medical source at Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital, where Mubarak has been since April, said Mubarak's health situation is relatively stable but he suffers from severe depression, which led to his reluctance to eat. The source added that when Mubarak is anxious and tense his health state declines. The source told Youm7 that Mubarak will be transferred by military aircraft to the location of the court to attend the hearing and will then return back to the hospital in Sharm. The source added that there is an intensive security presence inside and outside the hospital to secure Mubarak's transfer. An official security source in South Sinai confirmed that the governorate's security directorate has prepared a full security plan to secure Mubarak's transfer outside the governorate. The source said the directorate has not received any official instructions regarding the date of his transfer. The court will decide the date of the move according to the medical report on the former president's state of health.
