The trial of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will be held in the Exhibition Hall in Cairo, said Mohamed Manee, assistant minister of justice, after concluding a number of meetings regarding the location. The Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry, who is in charge of the Exhibition Hall, high-level security officials, high-level officials in the armed forces as well as Manee attended the final meeting. The now-merged trial for former president Mubarak and former Minister of Interior Habib al-Adly – and his six assistants – will take place at the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones building in the Exhibition Hall in Cairo. The hearings will begin on August 3, and the building will be secured by the armed forces until the conclusion of the trial. The President of the Court will decide who will attend the trial, all of whom will need special permission papers to enter the proceedings.
