The new Egyptian cabinet held its first meeting after the most recent ministerial reshuffle today. The cabinet discussed the current situation in Egypt, particularly the rights of January 25 Revolution martyrs, and how to mete justice upon those who are accused of killing protestors. The cabinet, headed by Prime minister Essam Sharaf, also discussed investments, economic issues and current development opportunities. The discussion included budget talks, particularly with regard to what economic measures would best control prices in the holy month of Ramadan. Those accused of killing protestors during the January 25 Revolution are excluded from cabinet discussions until the charges against them are addressed in court, said Minister of Interior Maj. Gen. Mansour el-Essawy. Amr Hemy, minister of health, will undertake a project at Agouza Hospital to address the injuries suffered during the January 25 Revolution. Those who are now fully or partially disabled – as a result of revolution injuries – will receive a monthly pension from the Ministry of Solidarity and the Ministry of Health.
