A member of the Free Egyptians Party, Basil el-Haywan, said the party is willing to co-ordinate with ideological allies and even Islamist parties in order to maintain national unity in the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections. El-Haywan said the presidential candidate, Mohamed el-Baradei, did not ask the party to support him in the upcoming presidential elections, although el-Baradei is very close to the party. The party did not yet decide whether to support him or not. El-Haywan told Youm7 that el-Baradei said the current stage in Egypt requires alliances between all political parties and trends in the upcoming legislative elections, and coordination among them. El-Baradei made this statement during a meeting with leaders of the party on Tuesday night. Another member of the Free Egyptians Party, Dr. Hani Sarie el-Din, said the main objective of the meeting with el-Baradei was to listen to his ideas and his vision regarding Egypt's future. The Free Egyptians Party was founded by Coptic Christian business tycoon Naguib Sawiris.
