ALEXANDRIA, Egypt: Memory of Modern Egypt started the second stage of a project to document the memory of Egypt's press, starting with newspapers and magazines issued during the French campaign in Egypt until the current year. The group documented, in its first stage, press institutions such as Rose al-Youssef, Akhbar al-Youm, and Dar al-Helal in addition to the Egyptian newspaper that has been suspended since the era of Khedive Ismail. The second stage will focus on documenting the history of al-Ahram and al-Gomhorreya. The project's team exerted many efforts to document the history of Egypt's press, saying newspapers are the mirror of the state of Egypt and of Egyptians through different eras. In a tour in the database, viewers can take a look in the history of Egypt's press through the different research offered in this regard or through the different photos or documents in the database.
