CAIRO: Egyptian Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf, will meet with the Minister of Local Development Mohammad, Atie, to discuss the names of new governors, scheduled are to be announced at the end of the current month. According to sources, there will be change in 18 governorates, including all the governors from the former regime. Border governorates will not be changed however, upon the request of the revolution demands. It is expected Qena's governor in Upper Egypt is one of the first of names to be changed since appointing him triggered protests all over the governorate during the past few months. The change will include also the governor of Cairo, Abdel-Qawi Khaifa, and of Giza, Ali Abdel Rahman, since rumors claim they are members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP), among other governors. The list includes changes in Alexandria, Aswan, Kafr el-Sheikh, Menia, Daqahliya, Red Sea, Suez and al-Wadi al-Gedid. Atei is mulling over the files of certain women in the local administration to become governors, in addition he is asking for help from certain professors and advisors in his mission to consider the accuracy and impartiality of the choice in governors.
