ALEXANDRIA, Egypt: Two Saints church in Egypt's Mediterranean city of Alexandrian will not given up the rights of its martyrs, said Church priest Maqar Fawzy. During a press conference in the Egyptian Center of Development Studies for Human Rights in Alexandria, Fawzy called for transparency in the investigation outcomes over the explosion that hit the church on New Years Eve. Twenty were killed and 130 injured. He asked where the victims' rights were. “Are they not Egyptian?” he asked, saying the explosion hit worshipers who were not demonstrating or committing any violation. He also thanked every Egyptian for his sorrow and sympathy with the Coptic Christians. Fawzy condemned the halt in the investigations over the New York Eve incidents. A priest of Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria said the investigation process was good until incidents of the January 25 Revolution, which stalled the process. He called for the rights of the victims and their families, for which the State is responsible. Meanwhile, a priest of Coptic Bishop Mossa Church in el-Menshyia, Mikhail Ibrahim, said he was following the course of investigations but that there are no results yet. Ibrahim called on the ruling military council, Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and Minister of Interior Mansour el-Issawy to announce the names of the real criminals. He added, “We will not allow the shedding of another drop of Coptic blood.” Moreover, council member Nader Mark called for publishing the truth of the manipulations practiced by former Minister of Interior Habib al-Adly, as he published false reports about the explosion while he was minister.
