The fates of the three Bedouin children – all of whom were arrested and tried in Israel – remain shrouded in mystery, as neither Israeli officials nor Egyptian embassy officials released any information regarding the children's health or detention. Sources close to the children's families and security officials say they are still in Israel, adding that the Egyptian embassy in Israel and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs are supposed to announce whether or not the children will be released. The three children were tried yesterday before Beer Sheba Court after they were accused of smuggling goods while illegally entering Israel. According to sources, an Israeli patrol arrested three 14-year-old Bedouin children named Mohamed, Salah, Yasser. Asmahan Adbel al-Hadi defended one of the children. Israeli sources claim that the three children were arrested for allegedly smuggling goods into Israel, but Bedouin sources say Israeli troops kidnapped the children from Sinai.
