CAIRO: Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed al-Orabi has formed a committee to work in coordination with the ministry to aid Egyptians held in Libyan prisons. Orabi received delegation of Egyptians who returned from Libya and whose family members remain imprisoned there as fighting between the government and rebels continues. Orabi said Egyptian officials are doing their best to bring Egyptians in Libya home, adding that he has paid special attention to the issue since his first day as minister. Orabi said he called Gomaa Fazan, the Libyan responsible for the issue, and asked him to solve the problem as soon as possible. Orabi said he will go to Libya himself to face any administrative obstacles. Fazan said Libyan officials are investigating the Egyptians imprisoned in Libya and releasing those who have not committed criminal offenses. Orabi also called Egyptian Consul in Tripoli and ordered him to follow the case and present daily reports about situation's development. Families of the prisoners expressed their satisfaction after meeting with Orabi, saying he will play a vital role in dealing with Egyptians abroad. Orabi said procedures to bring Egyptians home must be secret to ensure success. He added that the newly formed committee will provide him with the necessary contacts with Egyptians in Libya.
