CAIRO: Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf asked the European Union to support the Egyptian economy. He met with the head of European Commission European investment bank, Jose Manuel Barroso, and his deputy and commission leaders. Sharaf expressed his appreciation for the EU's role in encouraging Egypt's democratic turning process and economic support through practical steps. He praised the positive roles of European investment bank as well. Sharaf claimed the EU should continue supporting Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian issue by activating European Arabian dialogue. He discussed the EU's comprehensive vision to support Egypt politically and economically and to support democratic and political turning points in Egypt as well. "Supporting Egypt's economy benefits the EU," Barroso said. He added democratic experiment stability in Egypt supports stability in the Arab region.
