Alexandria, Egypt: Dr. Hisham Saudi, the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University, screened the first Egyptian three dimensional movie, titled, "The Last Days of Earth." The film was screened by Alexandria's Faculty of Fine Arts. The opening of the movie came after the end of the workshop prepared by Dr. Ahmed Barakat, a professor of Fine arts at Alexandria University. The workshop aimed to turn the movie from an audio movie to a three dimensional movie. A number of students of the faculty participated in the workshop. Dr. Ahmed Barakat said that such a workshop is the first in Egypt's faculties of Fine Arts. The idea of producing a three dimensional movie is a new one and has not been discussed before, he added. He also said the movie is an attempt to adopt a new model in film production, especially that such a model is used all over the world. About 100 students participated in making the film, added Barakat. Fatma Mohamed, one of the students who participated in the workshop, said the workshop was a good experience, an experience she did not get during her studies at university. She added that they way she now sees practical life has changed from this experience. Salma Mohamed Ibrahim said she enjoyed working in the film because of the teamwork that developed a positive spirit amongst everyone. She said she hopes that the idea of workshops spreads in Egypt as a main aspect for all forms of art.
