JERUSALEM: Israel recognized South Sudan as new country today. Israel presented economic grants to South Sudan after separating from Sudan, which refused accepting any grants from Israel. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said Israel recognizes South Sudan and wishes the new state success. South Sudan is a country aiming to achieve peace. “We are happy to cooperate with South Sudan in order to achieve development,” Netanyahu said. South Sudan announced its dependence yesterday according to the peace agreement with North Sudan 2005. There are thousands of Sudanese live in Israel. They arrived in Israel on foot through Sinai's desert.
