Egypt's Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf, is visiting Iraq on Friday July 15, and will be accompanied by an Egyptian delegation, reported Middle East News Agency. The visit aims to establish great projects and relations between Iraq and Egypt. It aims to particularly increase Egyptian investments in Iraq during the rebuilding and reconstructing phase of Iraq. Sharaf will hold negotiations with Iraqi officials about a mutual relationship between Egypt and Iraq. He will also discuss ways of supporting this relationship and increasing cooperation and coordination in all fields. He will particularly focus on commercial issues, establishing mutual projects and discussing how Egyptian projects and employment can contribute in reconstructing Iraq. This visit is very important in supporting Arab relations, said Iraqi representative in the Arab League, Dr. Qays Azzawi. Azzawi also said that this visit will activate economic and commercial cooperation between Egypt and Iraq. Iraq aims to use Egypt's experience in the gas and petrol fields. Iraq also invited Egyptian organizations and businessmen to contribute in reconstructing Iraq. Azzawi said the Iraqi government allocates $408,000,000 to Egyptian employment in Iraq instead of giving a loan to Egyptians who were obliged to leave Iraq during the second Gulf War.
