An official in Egyptian company General Motors, Wael Amar, said supporting the exportation of local products is the only way to activate Egypt's economy, which has been suffering recession since the January 25 Revolution. Amar pointed out exportation is a strategic option to achieve development globally since it contributes in developing the economy and treating the social problems. Development will get rid of social problems that threaten the stability of society including unemployment and raising the standard of living of the citizens. He assured his company works to support Egypt's national economy through encouraging local production. General Motors currently exports car coolers to General Motors in Colombia and Amar assures this step is an important opportunity for local exporters to improve their production to develop the local industry. He said his company's campaign is "I'm Egyptian and I support Egyptian products" and it aims to push Egyptian products to compete locally and internationally. The Ukrainian company, Zaz, is considered the first market to receive Egypt's products of car components this year. Amar said exportation reflects the confidence of international markets in Egypt's local products. This pushed General Motors Egypt to resume its role in activating Egypt's economy through developing the local industry and supporting investments. He added his company works to open new markets abroad to support exportation and develop Egypt's economy.
