Britain has agreed to add an additional 25 percent to every donation given to Egypt, said Mustafa Ragab, president of the Egyptian Union in Egypt. The donation will come under the title ‘charitable gift' from the British government to the Egyptian people, according to the ‘gift aid' law. Ragab is the coordinator of the popular initiative to retrieve money in British accounts smuggled from Egypt by members of the former regime. He said the Egyptian community in Britain has launched a campaign to raise funds to face the slums in Egypt. They have created a Facebook page to coordinate. Ragab also said the Egyptian community managed to gain the British government's approval for the campaign as well as the government's promise to add 25 percent. This means for every 100 British pounds donated, the British government will add 25 British pounds. The Egyptian community in England also plans to file a lawsuit against the British government requesting that Egyptian fugitives in Britain be handed over to Egypt, according to Moataz Salah el-Din, president of the popular initiative. The Egyptian community in Spain has organized a protest outside the Spanish ministry of foreign affairs, within the framework of the popular initiative in Spain, to retrieve Egyptian money in accounts there. Salah el-Din said 320 people participated in the protest. Of those, 95 were Spanish members of the 15 May movement. They held signs in Spanish and chanted, “Salem's money is Egyptian money.”
