Egypt's Minister of Petroleum Mohammed Abdallah Ghorab said the Egyptian government has managed to advance in negotiations on increasing gas exportation prices to match international prices. He said the government will take the necessary measures to conclude the agreement. Ghorab's declarations came after a meeting between Egypt's Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, and officials from BG Petroleum, Frank Chapman and Samy Alexander. During the meeting, Sharaf discussed ways to increase the company's investments in Egypt in the next years. The company plans to create a partnership with civil society to contribute to the development process. Frank Chapman announced his company's plan to expand its activities in the central delta region by investing 1.5 billion dollars and establishing projects in al-Manzla and Gamasa. Sharaf welcomed the company's decision to increase its investments in Egypt, confirming Egypt's desire to increase its reserves of natural gas to meet local demand and to increase exportation. Sharaf said Egypt offers a lot of incentives and guarantees attracting investments in different sectors, especially in the gas and petroleum sectors.
