CAIRO: Amnesty International Organization Delegation is continuing closed meetings with Egyptian civil society activists in the Arab World in order to support human rights in Egypt after the January 25 Revolution. “General secretary of Amnesty international organization, Salil Shetty, decided to extend his visit in Egypt in order to attend former Minster of Interior, Habib al-Adly's, trial,” said an Amnesty international organization official. The Amnesty delegation's visit to Egypt is scheduled to end on Saturday. The delegation intends to follow the former regime official's trials and follow the investigations into former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's and former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef's charges. Shetty met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nabil el-Arabi, yesterday to discuss illegal migration from Africa, using Egyptian borders to get into Israel and African refugees to Egypt. The delegation will officially meet Egyptian Minister of the Interior, Mansour el-Essawi on Thursday. A source from the ministry said el-Essawi might not be able to meet the delegation which includes Shetty; Senior managers, Claudio Cardone and Wendy Brown; Middle East and North Africa program deputy director, Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui; and Egyptian affairs researchers, Mohamed Lotfy and Said Haddadi.
