Established: 2010 HarrassMap is an advocacy, prevention, and response tool to sexual harassment in Cairo. The service is run by both Egyptian and foreign women: Rebecca Chiao, Engy Ghozlan, Amel Fahmy, Sawsan Gad, and Sara Eldemerdash. Through HarrassMap, women can report different types of sexual harassment (catcalls, touching, ogling, stalking, phone calls, indecent exposure, and assault) by sending an SMS to 0169870900, or by going online to harassmap.org. HarassMap then takes these reports and maps the incidences to particular neighborhoods and streets. Visitors to the HarassMap website can see a map of Cairo which notes how many instances and what types of harassment have occurred in each area. From this map, HarrassMap will identify hotspots and will warn both service users and the police of the areas where harassment occurs most. HarassMap also provides information about how to make a police report and offers lists of service providers, including legal aid, psychological help and self defense classes. The website also has a blog where women can share their experiences of harassment and offer tips about how to deal with the harassment. Website: http://harassmap.org/
