The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) started training the monitors for the coming elections that will deal with the different stages of the electoral process. High profile experts will participate in training the monitors and supervising the electoral process, starting with the submission of the nominees' required papers to announcing the final results. Ambassador Mahmoud Karim and Director General of the NCHR told Youm7 the council has a final vision regarding elections by forming subsidiary operational rooms in relation to the central room. Each room will be supervised by a member of the NCHR. He also said the council announced the vacancies which need experts in this regard through media, adopting the principles of transparency and accountability. The NCHR also started receiving NGO applications to train their members on monitoring the process, so that they are ready for the next parliamentary elections. The NCHR needs to fill a number of jobs for the preparations of the next parliamentary elections. The required jobs include researchers, trainers and experts. Also the NCHR's elections support unit needs a number of researchers who are professionals in computer and internet applications. Karim said the experts will prepare training manuals for the field observers of the electoral process, while other experts will provide media training so the process gets covered neutrally. The council will also look into the CVs of trainers and those who want to cooperate with the council in executing different programs, he added. Hazem Mounir, a member of the NCHR, told Youm7 that the council seeks to create new jobs to protect the authenticity of the complaints and violations the electoral process can witness. He said the lawyers who will be trained will meet the job requirements, clarifying that the objective of creating such job is to achieve transparency. The council will not only give a chance to supervisors but to journalists as well who will neutrally cover the events in accordance to international standards, said Mounir. According to Mounir, the council's studies show the possibility of training the employees of the poll centers. He said these training programs will be funded by the UN Developing Program (UNDP), clarifying that the council has three main objectives including expanding cooperation between the NCHR and civil society organizations, pushing the electoral monitoring process and making it possible for civil society organizations to have larger roles in such processes.
