Talk shows in review

Yesterday's talk shows dealt with several important issues, but the greatest focus was the National Reconciliation Authority's recommendation to prevent former members of the disbanded NDP for five years.
El Qahera el Youm
Host Amr Adeeb was absent due to his mother's illness, so the program was presented by Ezzat Abu Ouf, and Mohamed Mustafa Shourdy.
Shourdy attacked protestors especially those of the air traffic controllers. He asked protesters be patient and work towards Egypt's progress.
Eng Ibrahim Manna, the Minister of Civil Aviation, said during a phone call with the program that all statements made by air traffic controllers are incorrect regarding salaries. She said the salaries of new air traffic controllers are less than those of old traffic controllers.
The first segment of the program dealt with the problems facing the development of inventions and inventors in Egypt.

Dr. Hania Alhalgamy said the committee aims to provide an opportunity for the Egyptian people to record their history for themselves.

The main segment focused on Interpol's efforts in tracking down former regime figures, and hosted head of Interpol in Cairo, Brigadier General Magdi el Shafei, who said there was seven people whom Interpol are currently tracking down including Hussein Salem, Yousef Boutros Ghali, Rasheed Mohamed Rasheed, Hussain Sajwani, Yassin Mansour, Youssef Wahid Atta Allah and Hisham el Hazeq. In addition to this, 403 other Egyptian nationals are wanted for justice and Interpol has received intelligence on the whereabouts of most of them and is working hard on arresting them, said Shafei.

The main segment of the show included a dialogue with Mohammed Ghozlan, a member in the Guidance Bureau of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Ghozlan discussed attacks being made against the Muslim Brotherhood for espousing Islamic values despite the fact the Brotherhood was willing to engage in dialogue with anyone provided they were not forced to refrain from using religious rheotric.

The first part of the show included a dialogue with author and journalist, Lamis Gaber on the meaning of freedom.
Gaber said freedom in modern societies is based on respecting the freedom of others and that the freedom Egypt is now enjoying is a little dangerous because the opposition is not used to it. She said Mubarak should have a fair trial and the nation should seek legal redress, and so legal order should be upheld.
The second part included differences in points of view regarding the concept of freedom.
