“When Khaled Said died he revived the voice of justice. Although a year has passed, he did not get back his right.” Those words were posted on the Facebook page of Khaled Said yesterday on the first anniversary of his death. His Facebook followers called for demonstrations in 18 governorates in Egypt to revenge his death and to call for prosecuting his killers as fast as possible. Khaled was beaten to death by two police officers in Alexandria on June 6, 2010, and his death is considered of the sparks that led to Egypt's January 25 Revolution. The Facebook page also called for treating those injured in the Revolution and prosecuting murderers. The demonstration was largest in Khaled's home city of Alexandria, particularly in front of his house. “Khaled Said did not deserve all these actions: being beaten, tortured, having the facts forged. If he were a criminal, he would have been in Sharm el-Sheikh. I do not say more than ‘God bless your soul Khaled.' You triggered the people's anger. Your right and the martyrs' rights also will come back, God willing,” posted Radwa Ashraf on the page. “Khaled taught me how to be angry before the Day of Anger. I'm sorry Khaled, my parents taught me to be negative; so I couldn't do anything, but I started to be completely changed since January 23 because of Khaled, and I will not to be negative anymore,” wrote the author of the “Fatafeat Rob3 Qarn” blog. She added, “There are many people died early whose names are immortal. Khaled is one of them.” On 3eks 3ekas blog, the author wrote: “Khaled, look at the tyrant who sent his torturing angels to kill you. He is bedridden, imprisoned and frustrated. The other person, who trained those angels as if they are masters of this universe and the people are cockroaches cracked by their feet, is imprisoned and will be executed soon. Your killers are now being prosecuted and will be executed regardless of the court verdict. O my brother, look at your home in Alexandria, it became the home of all Egyptians. Your mother is the Egyptians' mother on this land. The revolution started by carrying your photos and repeating your name. Are you content now as your soul is the main renaissance to all the nation?”
